A Look Back: Two Years of Community News

Author: joe | Filed under: Features

Believe it or not, this news blog recently celebrated its 2 year anniversary of sharing information about our passively multiplayer online game.

Since my tenure began here, I have posted a lot of articles ranging from downtime notices to release information. Before me, the staff of GameLayers also maintained this blog providing information about the early development of the game.

Today I’d like to go back in time and share with you some of my favorite entries.

Here they are:

1. PRisk, It’s Time to Take Over the World

PRisk was a Zous venture from way back in August of 2008. Some say PRisk was the greatest single event in our game’s history. Others claim it is better only remembered. Regardless of your personal feelings, PRisk was a great example of both extending The Nethernet and of the community coming together in a huge and fun way.

2. A History of PMOG

Prior to our transition from the name of PMOG to The Nethernet, our CEO, Justin, took the time to write a three part series in which he covered the past, present and future of what is known today as The Nethernet. This post provides some interesting insight in the early days of PMOG and includes some great art from the sidebar version of the game, too.

3. Live Event: Mine Damage Hacked!

In January of this year TNN Characters came out of hiberation and began interacting with you, the community, more openly. This was the first of a few live events where the Characters came to life and took over some factors of the game.

4. A RL Crate for burdenday

I’ve never been a big fan of holidays or gift receiving, but this completely awesome and unexpected gift from Riko, a Nethernet player really made my day; it also made the office into a warzone…

Do you have a favorite blog entry from The Nethernet Community News Blog? If so, please share it in this thread on the forums.
