Following the great reception the PMOG Community had for PMOG 0.6, we are happy to bring you PMOG 0.6.1, a maintenance release. PMOG 0.6.1 is a highly recommended update for all PMOG Players.

New PMail options include: new mail count and an auto-poll toggle.
Each day, more and more of you are using PMail to chat, barter, thank and taunt one another as you play, and we think that’s great. Thanks to your feedback, PMOG 0.6.1 helps to ease and manage the constant queue of messages many of you end up with: you can now toggle whether or not PMOG automatically polls for messages. Additionally, the PMailbox displays the number of unread messages you have waiting for you. So, either way, you can keep in touch with your allies and watch for notifications that your rival has fallen into your latest trap.
PMOG 0.6.1 also addresses concerns about the pause feature of PMOG. When PMOG is paused you will once again halt all game events, including incoming PMails regardless of if you have them toggled to poll or not. Also, when you pause PMOG, all open overlays will close, allowing you to truly take a break from PMOG, but don’t forget to come back! This doubles for logging out of PMOG.
Portals also now provide for you to leave a comment with their creator after you have made the jump!

Most players of PMOG probably know one person from GameLayers: Joe Wagner (aka burdenday). Joe works hard to be sure that people know how to have fun online together. He works to minimize confusion and keep our channels open for communication.

It’s a lot of work! It means soothing egos and encouraging confidence. What makes someone want to work in community support? We asked Joe some of those questions ourselves:

Hey PMOGeons,
We’d like to apologize for the amount of downtime PMOG suffered today. There were a number of necessary updates we pushed while everyone most players were sleeping, which ended up going haywire later in the day. This resulted in a number of serious bugs that we thereby had to address.
Hopefully, in the next few hours, everything should be back, or as close to back, to normal as you’d expect to find. Additionally, we believe we have addressed the lingering issues with PMOG spamming players with notifications they have leveled up. If you find you’re still getting way too many messages, please let us know by using the PMOG Contact Form.
Thanks again for your patience, while we try to right things on our end! Again, we apologize for our silence the past few hours while we’ve been busy coding away.
Yours,
GameLayers

Well met, PMOGeons,
This arrived via mechanical carrier pigeon on my desk this morning:

Bloody Tuesday and the Forces of Chaos have hacked mines to do -15dp!
“I’ve read ya losers posts in these Forums. I seen th’ abuse ya been givin’ me. It doesn’t matter t’ me o’ course. You’re all nothin’ compared t’ me.
“But then. I don’t want ya doubtin’ my skills. I need ya t’ know I mean business. Just ‘cos my orders aren’t comin’ through as fast as you want, I’m as anxious as you t’ get this started. But I don’t have my marchin’ orders yet. So I have t’ wait. An’ that means you do too.
So I got a little present for ya. Some o’ ya will be most happy wit’ my talents. Others? Not so much. See, For t’day only I packed a littl’ extra punch int’ my weapons. An’ by proxy as ya could say. Yours too. See, Wit’ just a little tweakin’ ya can add a little somethin’ for all of ya. Losers or not. T’day ya gonna have a lot of fun.
“Sasha has come up wit’ some novel uses for th’ portals before. This may be her greatest. Wit’ a little proddin’ from me an’ my employer she fitted every mine on these mean streets wit’ a small portal device. It’ll portal inside o’ ya clothes. It still can’t get through th’ armor. I tried. Still too tough in ‘em tin cans. But it’ll stick t’ skin an’ do 15dp Damage.
“By th’ end o’ th’ day the forces o’ order will have worked out a solution I’ll bet. But for t’day? Enjoy.” – Bloody Tuesday
We Trustees are trying our best to combat the surge in the forces of Chaos and restore the balance of Order, but it will take some time. We anticipate that for the next 24 hours or so, Mines will do -15 datapoints worth of damage. Until then, beware!

Ready to apply to become a Steward? Take the portal!
The PMOG Stewards are a group of players who volunteer countless hours to help GameLayers support the PMOG Community. In the past, GameLayers selected out members of the community and asked if they’d like to volunteer and join the Steward program. Today, for the first time since the program’s birth in May of 2008, any PMOG Player can apply to become a Steward.
If you’ve ever had interest in being a more active member of the PMOG Community, there is an application available in this thread.
