Last year at South by Southwest Interactive (SXSW), in Austin, Texas, we had a bunch of fun talking about PMOG concepts on a few panels. Here’s a pic of Joi and Ben and me carrying on.

You can listen to a podcast of that discussion here, or check out a transcript.
Looking forward to March 2008, we expect we’ll have something deeper to show. And discuss! Because PMOG-style dataplay is popping up all over the place.
Accordingly, we’ve proposed a session for SXSW in Austin in March 2008: DataPlay: Living Games. They’ve opened the pre-panel picking process up to people so please participate!

We’ve had a great run from March 2007 until August 2007 – laying mines, making quests, embedding items, huzzah!
But it’s been jerky – the site goes up and down with the frequency of a cheap ham radio. We’ve moved servers, we’ve throttled our flow, we need to tame this PMOG beast! So it can be responsive like a game, in your internets.
So if you’re rockin’ the PMOG, keep that playful itch in your clicker-finger, we’re going to be coming back at you with whole new pmoggery after many months of hard coding in seekrit. Stay tuned! In a few days, our sites may grow quiet. But our intentions are loud!
A hearty thank you to all of our alpha testers, especially those people who made a quests and laid mines and hacked our game and posted in our forums and dreamed with us a web game. We look forward to playing with you again!
